Registration and Course Regulations

  • Master
After master's students that have passed examinations and been selected have enrolled in the school, they are required to confirm their time at which they should arrive at the research room with their advising professor, and also to fill in a “letter of consent”, which is signed by the teacher and handed over to the department office (those who have already completed this procedure do not have to).
After master's students that got in this school through examinations have enrolled in the school, they can first go to the department office (Engineering Building classroom 203) to check with the assistant of the remaining number of students that the professors are accepting. After talking face to face and being accepted by the teacher, the student then has to fill in the “letter of consent”, which is signed by the teacher and handed over to the department office (those who have already completed this procedure do not have to).
During every semester, the courses selected by each graduate student should be accepted and signed by the teacher for the course to be acknowledged as graduation credit points.
Regarding master's and doctor's courses, students are allowed to select the courses among each other, but the professor has to sign.
The graduation credit points of the master's class is 24 credits (not including 6 credits of thesis)
Required course of the graduate school of the Department of Mechanical Engineering: Seminar (2 semesters).
  • Ph.D
Regarding master's and Ph.D. courses, students are allowed to select among each other (only after their advising professor has agreed).
The graduation credit points of the doctor's class are 24 credits (including 4 credits of Seminar); 6 credits of Thesis course are not included.
According to the resolution reached at the department affairs meeting on 06/25/2008, if graduating students of that year skips straight to study doctor's degree, their graduation credit points are 36 (including 4 credits of Seminar); 6 credits of Thesis are not included.
According to the resolution reached at the department affairs meeting on 06/24/2003, Ph.D. who has already studied doctor’s degree at another school before registration at CYCU are allowed to take a limit of 9 credits off their total credit point. Students who have applied for an examination with vocational academic background are required to make up the number of credits. For detailed information on make-up credits, please consult with the assistant.
